Aditi Rao Hydari champions green in a silk Raw Mango outfit

There’s a reason Raw Mango is synonymous with luxe pieces that are treated almost like heirlooms: it is a deliberate choice by Sanjay Garg, who helms the brand, to bring a tailored, luxe and timeless aesthetic to the brand. What a Raw Mango piece gives the wearer is the sense of owning a garment that will withstand the ebbs and flows of trends and of-the-moment styles. Aditi Rao Hydari shot for the brand wearing a green silk outfit—scroll through to get the details.

Aditi Rao Hydari wore a green Raw Mango kurta and matching sharara pants

There is a sense of luxury that is intertwined with Varanasi brocade fabrics—they are imbued with a richness and lushness that seems to be perennial. Rao Hydari’s look comes from the Raw Mango 2021 festive wear collection, and features all-over ‘jaal’ motifs in gold thread. The green of the silk is both cheerful and elevated, and provides a respite from traditionally red and pink festive wear. Details like the pink silk lining on the kurta—which peeks out from certain angles—gives these garments a luxurious, bespoke feeling. Foregoing a dupatta is easy with the tailored silhouette of the kurta, and the way the sharara pants fan out at the hem lends the outfit a sense of grandeur. What we love about looks like this one is the fact that both pieces that comprise it—the kurta and the pants–are perfectly capable of holding their own, and can be paired with other garments from your closet to create an entirely new outfit. The narrow-but-deep V of the kurta’s neckline brings this look firmly into the modern era, but something tells us that it’s the kind of outfit that you save to pass down through the generations.
