Police arrested her husband after he notified them of the killing and then waited for them. Homicide Sgt. Carl Marlatt identified the victim as Kay Dickey, 33, of 3501 E. Gold Dust Her husband, Roger, 39, was booked into Maricopa County jail on a charge of murder.

Detective Eloy Ysasi said the woman had been shot three times, with a pistol, stabbed five times with a large knife and, had been struck 10 times on the head with a pistol butt. Strands of the woman's blonde hair still were wrapped around a bolt in the butt of the heavy, 1917 model Colt Army revolver when it was found. Ysasi said. Ysasi said the couple had been separated about two weeks and the husband said he had returned to try to pursuade her to go to Flagstaff and work things out. Mrs.

Dickey refused to go and apparently locked herself in the bathroom, Ysasi said. One bullet was fired through the bathroom door. and it apparently struck the woman in the leg. The woman then came out of the bathroom and was shot again, stabbed and beaten near the front door, police said. The home is located in a quiet, well-to-do neighborhood north of the Phoenix Mountains near Dreamy Draw Dam.

Troubleshooter hired for Sun City streets By THELMA SUN CITY A roving troubleshooter to look for reeded street repairs here has been hired by the Sun City Home Owners Association. Earl Clore. association president, speaking to 300 members in the Alcove Theater. said Roland Moores would spot the faulty street conditions and work with the Del Webb Development to Maricopa County Highway Department and others for improvements. is Clore said water that stands in the streets has been coming from golf courses, recreation centers and condominium lawns.

He said that Webb officials have promised remedial help and that letters have been sent to condominium owners askin cooperation in keeping water from lawn sprinklers off the streets. In another matter, Clore referred to Sheriff Paul Blubaum's announcement that Sun City may get a jail and court building at Del Webb to Boulevard and Bell Road. Clore said he has asked for in a with Blubaum to determine the sheriff's reasons for wanting the facilities. an In a show of hands, association members indicated strongly that they did not want a jail at Sun City. Clore, in discussing the projects, said he had written the State Land Office to protest issuance of permits to mine gravel in the Agua Fria riverbed north of Bell Road.

"It is reported that there is about $4 million in gravel that the state wants mined." Clore said. "Three sand and gravel companies have applied for mine leases." Clore said the home owners association did not want the noise, sand and dirt problems the gravel mining would bring to the Sun City area. "If we have to get a re- Slate in to agree on By GORDON SCOTTSDALE Three city councilmen seeking reelection as a slate agreed Thursday night they do not see eye to eye on every issue. But Billie Gentry said she and the two other incumbents agree they want a better Scottsdale. "We all agree on that." Mrs.

Gentry told about 80 persons attending a public council candidates' forum sponsored by the Scottsdale Jaycees. Five of seven persons seeking four year terms on the council attended the forum and a sixth. Herbert Vogt, sent a representative. John Traxlor, a local businessman, was the only candidate not represented. Mrs.

Gentry, Heinz Hink and Herb Drinkwater are the incumbent candidates. They are opposed by Traxlor, Vogt, realtor Robert Kratzet and stock broker Jeffrey Schubert. Schubert told the audience he felt local citizens have a right to know the future environment when buying a home. He called for zoning restrictions for residential areas to protect this environment.
