In this Horizon Forbidden West Vista Point map location guide, we’ll show you the location of all nine Vista Points throughout the Daunt and the Forbidden West.

Horizon Forbidden West Vista Points are holographic echoes from the past. When you find the correct spot to stand and line up the image with the ruins of the Old World, you’ll collect the Vista Point and earn some XP.

There are 9 Vista Points in Horizon Forbidden West located in The Daunt, Plainsong, Scalding Spear, The Memorial Grove, The Stillsands, Dunehollow, The Long Coast, Shrouded Heights, and Isle of Spires.

You’ll actually find a signal from a Vista Point Tower first. When you scan this with your Focus, you’ll get a holographic skeleton that you need to line up with a real world location. That location will usually be nearby — listen to Aloy’s monologuing for clues.

Vista Point: The Daunt

For the The Daunt Vista Point, look for the Relic Ruins: The Daunt and head a little north. There’s a ruined bridge across a small stream there. Stand on the northern bridge foundation to line up The Daunt Vista Point.

Vista Point: Plainsong

Head west from Plainsong toward the mountains and look for some windmills. You’ll have to climb up to them (and fight some Sunwings). Stand behind the windmills facing Plainsong to line up the Plainsong Vista Point.

Vista Point: Scalding Spear

Head to the mountains to the east-northeast of Scalding Spear and look for some rusty ruins there — it looks kind of like an observation shack. You’ll have to deal with another Sunwing Machine Site while you’re here. Stand on the roof of the shack and look back toward Scalding Spear to line up the Scalding Spear Vista Point.

Vista Point: The Memorial Grove

Over the mountains to the west of Scalding Spear and north of The Memorial Grove, follow the river north. Just before you reach the lake there, look high on the cliffs to the north for a busted radar dish. Climb up the rocks to the cement overlook behind the dish and face south to line up The Memorial Grove Vista Point.

Vista Point: The Stillsands

Along the northern edge of the desert basin where you find the ruins of Las Vegas, there are some mountains. If you follow the remains of the Strip straight north, you’ll find this Vista Point’s Signal Tower overlooking (what’s left of) the Stratosphere. A little farther north up the hill, there’s another cement overlook platform. Stand there and face south to line up The Stillsands Vista Point.

Vista Point: Dunehollow

This Vista Point is underground in Dunehollow — the area you’ll explore as part of the Main Quest “The Sea of Sands” in Hidden Ember. Head out into the lowest, open area — you’ll find the signal on the south side of the pedestrian bridge near the Fatshake holographic billboard. Head to the broken bridge in the northwest of the area — you climbed up to this bridge after you defeated the Tideripper earlier. Face southwest to line up the Dunehollow Vista Point.

Vista Point: The Long Coast

On the western coast, there’s a sandy beach southwest of The Greenhouse. Look for a tall, rocky island just off the beach. Climb up onto the cliff there and face northwest to line up The Long Coast Vista Point.

Vista Point: Shrouded Heights

This Vista Point is actually underwater, so you’ll need to have the Diving Mask to complete it. Look for the rusted ship sticking out into the bay along the northern shore of the Isle of Spires. Dive into the water, and look for the dome-topped building west of the end of the ship. You’ll need to swim down to the seabed to line up the Shrouded Heights Vista Point.

Vista Point: Isle of Spires

On the south side of the island, head north from the Boat to the Mainland. You’ll find the Vista Point Signal Tower near (yet another) Sunwing Machine Site. This is good, though, because you’ll need to ride a Sunwing to complete this Vista Tower — which means you’ll have to have completed “The Wings of the Ten” Main Quest.

Ride your Sunwing to the Perch at the top of the huge tower nearby. You’ll have to climb even farther up from there, so you’ll have to do some maneuvering around the ladders and beams. All the way at the top, there’s a single beam sticking out off of the tower. Perch on it and face north to line up the final Isle of Spires Vista Point.

Vista Point rewards

Once you find the final Vista Point, you’ll get set of coordinates nearby. Head to the cache and you’ll find an Ancient Valuables Chest and an Ancient Valuables Safe including a message from Elisabet.
